- I had the "no sound modem problem" with my Cardinal 28.8 modem which
- uses Rockwell chip sets. The fix was to make a change the MDMROCK.INF
- file located in the C:\WINDOWS\INF folder.
- The change was very simple. In the line:
- HKR, Settings, DialSuffix,,";"
- Remove the ; so it reads:
- HKR,Settings,DialSuffix,,""
- A similar fix may work for you. After you make changes, you must go to
- the Control Panel and double-click on the modems icon. Delete the
- entry for your modem and then re-add it.
